Infinity Ward has announced the extension of season one of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare until February 11. The studio revealed that the delay is to ensure that there’s more room for additional rewards, like a challenge that sees you get a crossbow.
Call od Duty: Modern Warfare season 1 has already been described as the biggest free content drop in Call of Duty History by Infinity Ward and was set to end on January 28. However, the two-weeks delay means that players will have more time to reap the update’s rewards and complete their Officer Ranks and Tiers. Therefore, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare season 2 will be out a bit late.
The announcement was made by Infinity Ward on their website saying:
“Over the next few weeks, a host of new items and challenges will arrive, including an in-game Challenge to earn the new Crossbow weapon, more remixed game modes, new playlists, and more in the Store to discover.
To make room for all that activity, we are making a one-time extension of Season One – it’s now ending on February 11. During that time, there will be 2XP, 2X Weapon XP, and 2X Tier Progression to help you finish up your Officer Ranks and Tiers, and get you ready for an exciting Season Two.”
The extension should enhance the development on season 2 although the kind gesture of adding additional rewards to season 1 by Infinity Ward to make it easier for players will be greatly appreciated ahead of the next big content drop. Meanwhile, the long-awaited Gunfight 3v3 mode has been added to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare as part of the Gunfight Trios playlist.
